A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME

spring 2021

A chair is still a chair
Even when there’s no one sitting there
But a chair is not a house and a house is not a home
When the birds have left the flock
And no one thought to check the clock

A room is still a room
Even when there’s nothing there to bloom
But a room is not a house and a house is not a home
When the sun has shed its light
And the walls have lost their bite
